EV charger installation in Brisbane
A home charger that suits your car, your switchboard and your solar. We check the supply first, install it on its own protected circuit and set it up so the house never trips while the car charges.
How long would a top-up take?
Estimated time to 80%
5 h 56 min
This is a rough estimate. Real charging time depends on your car’s onboard charger, battery temperature and what else the house is using. Many cars charge at a maximum of 7 or 11 kW on AC power, whatever the wall unit can supply.
Which charger suits you?
Most Brisbane homes have a single-phase supply, and a 7 kW wall charger adds roughly 40 to 50 kilometres of range per hour, enough to refill most cars overnight. Homes with three-phase power can run an 11 kW charger, which helps with bigger batteries or two EVs. Charging from a normal power point with the portable cable works in a pinch, but it is slow and puts a long, heavy load on a circuit that wasn’t designed for it.
We check the switchboard first
Before quoting, we look at your main switch, your board and what else draws power at night, such as air conditioning, a pool pump or a hot water system. If the numbers are tight, a charger with load management watches the household demand and slows charging when needed, which often avoids an expensive supply upgrade.
Charging from your solar
Smart chargers can follow your solar output and charge the car with energy you would otherwise export for a few cents. We set up the charger and the monitoring app so you can choose between solar-only, scheduled off-peak charging or fast charging when you need it.
Units and townhouses
In a complex the body corporate usually needs to approve the work, and power may have to come from your own meter or a shared supply. We can provide a written proposal for the committee with the cable route, metering and how costs are kept separate.
